my mind is relieved
I was high minded as I stood on top of the highest hill in the city, but I couldn’t help but feel the slightest wave of anxiety as I impatiently waited for the sun to rise. The rays of the sun barely stretched out from behind the earth, but those few rays were enough for the sky to become illuminated into a canary-yellow paradise. It almost seemed as if the clouds and the sun had a mutual understanding that the night was theirs, and the day was his. In time, fields were brightened by nature’s warm rays; my mind couldn’t process words that could reciprocate with that beautiful sight, but it was more than just a magnificent view. Its brilliance surpassed words by a distance so far not even satellites could help reach an understanding. The solitary sound of a cricket sparked my senses… one by one. As each of my senses triggered on in a domino format, I could feel my world beginning to spin slower and slower, until everything was perfectly still. I looked down into the dried out grass to something so much smaller than my reality, and I smiled. There I was, sharing the world with this tiny creature.
